Flooring design elements
Borders provide a room or region a frame effect, and they typically contrast with the main section of the room. A basic installation of a medium-colored wood, such as strip white oak, can include a contrasting darker wood, such as Brazilian cherry, as a border around the room. The possibilities are endless, and they aren't limited to wood. Multiple wood species, stone, marble, brass, stainless steel, nickel, and other metals can be used to create borders.
